Wee Bit Wednesday!

{one} what’s the #1 most played song on your iPod (or whatever you use)?
Jennifer Lopez's new song 'On The Floor'. Love that song. But, I also love my Pit Bull songs and my Far East Movement songs..they all get my booty shaking.

{two} what’s your favorite type of exercise?
Zumba. It is so much fun!! The hour flies by, the music is great, and I'm sweating by the end of it.

{three} what’s your least favorite mode of transportation?
Walking? It's too hot..or too cold..or too windy..or too rainy. And it takes forever..and my shoes are rubbing my feet wrong.

{four} if you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be? I don't think I'd want to stay any age forever. My first year in my 30's has been pretty fantastic so I'll say 30.

{five} when you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you use it to do?
This right here. I am currently using my free time. Actually, any time I'm not working is usually my free time. I'm pretty free...all of the time. ha.

{six} what do you miss the most about being a kid? I miss playing. I envy kids that can sit down with two dolls and create a world that only exists in their head. I feel like we lose our ability to imagine and play as we get older..which is kind of sad.

{seven} when was the last time you were nervous?
I get nervous all the time! Let's see...last time was today when my boss came to my desk and tapped me on the shoulder. I was on a phone call so he quickly asked that I come to his desk when I was done. The brief moments it took for me to wrap up my phone call I was a little nervous because I didn't know what he wanted..which turned out to be nothing really..of course.

{eight} what was the first thing you bough with your own money when you were young?
I don't remember. Probably food of some type.

{nine} what is your favorite month of the year?
April. It's starting to warm back up, but the breeze is still cool. Things are coming back to life, flowers blooming, lawns getting green, birds building nests on our patio.

{ten} what are 3 songs from the soundtrack of your life?
This is SO hard. Ok, these are just three (out of a gazillion):
1. Violent Femmes - 'Blister in the Sun'
2. The Presidents of the United States of America - 'Kitty'
3. Megadeath - 'Sweating Bullets'

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what color best describes you + why?
Green and Red. Can I pick two? I'm gonna. Green because I'm pretty down to earth, in-tune, simple. And Red because I can be a little fiesty, opinionated, and moody.

{two} how have you changed in the past year?
My hair is longer? Ok, ok..um..I guess I would say that I have learned to be a little more patient. When I make up my mind to do something, I'm usally ALL IN..RIGHT THAT SECOND! When I decide I want something, I am instantly plotting out the way for me to get it. Jeremy knows that when I say 'I've been thinking..' that he might want to start worrying. The impulses are still there, but I can see the advantage..or need to wait for things.

I think I have also learned to be a better listener and to keep my opinions to myself. This is very hard for me, as anyone who knows me personally will tell you. I don't usually sugar coat things and I speak my mind. I'm still pretty liberal with my thoughts and opinions when speaking to Jeremy. I know that he will always listen to what I have to say, and want to hear it. But for others, I have tried to take the route of 'just listen and don't offer an opinion unless you are specifically asked for one'.

{three} have you ever had any surgeries?
Yes, two. They were the same type of surgeries, just for two different things.

{four} why did you start your blog?
To be creative, to dump my thoughts, to be silly, to feel connected, to reach out, to vent, to laugh.

{five} what are you looking forward to this summer?
My birthday week. I have the whole week off work and we are going to Dallas for a few days of that week.

{six} do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?
Not really. For the last several years we have gone to my in-laws house to shoot off fireworks. Here, you have to be outside of city limits to pop fireworks, and they live in the country. Everyone on their street goes out and sits in their driveways to watch. I love it..my in-laws, not so much..because for days before and after the holiday itself people out there are shooting off fireworks. Its fun for one night, but would be VERY annoying for several nights in a row.

{seven} what’s something new that you’ve tried in the past few months?
I am SO boring!! I can't think of one new thing I have tried. Do recipes count? I have tried a few new recipes. That will have do...love, Boring McLame

{eight} what is the perfect a/c temperature?
Jeremy would say 75, all the time. I like it at 77 during the day and then bumped down to 75 at night.

{nine} what was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Pirates of the Carribean. It was ok. Nothing will beat the first one...as it usually goes. I think we are about due to go to another movie.

{ten} what song do you think everyone should hear at least once?
"You Got the Love" by Florence and the Machine. It never fails to bring me out of slump. It's a good song.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how many times have you been a bridesmaid/maid of honor?
Twice. I was a bridesmaid at the wedding of the couple that was part of our wedding party. They were married just a little over a year after us. And just last September I was the matron of honor at my best friends wedding.

{two} what’s the last thing you do before you fall asleep at night?
Pray. And guess what, He's listening.

{three} you just won your dream vacation, all expenses paid. where are you going?
Scotland and Ireland. For sure.

{four} what is your favorite outdoor activity?
Lolling. It is SO an outdoor activity..can't convince me otherwise.

{five} as a child, what did you want to “be when you grew up”? did you end up there?
I have no idea. I can't remember ever wanting to be anything specific. Maybe my Mom can help me out here.

{six} what are 3 things your dream home would have that you don’t currently have?
Only three things?! Dang, that's hard. An open floor plan. A second bathroom. A walk-in closet.

{seven} what’s for dinner tonight?
Good question. Jeremy sent a text message earlier that he really didn't feel like cooking..so we might be running out for dinner tonight.

{eight} if someone stopped by your house unannounced on a typical Saturday night, what would they find you doing?
We'd be hanging in the back room. Jeremy would probably be playing a video game and I would be surfing the 'net or reading a book.

{nine} what’s your average monthly water bill?
I don't know. Jeremy takes care of the bills so I don't even open them usually. Probably too much...like every other bill.

{ten} what do you do to relax?
Read a book. If I really want to let go, get out of my head, take a deep breath, take a mental vacation..I lose myself in a book.

Just a few more days to enter my Colgate Wisps giveaway..go enter right now!!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} do you believe in ghosts?
I do believe in ghosts. I've never seen one, or had any type of personal experience but I do believe they are real. But, other people's stories about ghosts fascinate me. I ask nearly everyone if they have any good ghosts stories to tell. Jeremy did have an encounter with something, not a ghost but a..creature, when he was younger. Gives me goosey-bumps to think about it. Maybe I'll tell y'all about it in another blog, or MAYBE I can talk Jeremy into writing about it.

{two} are you more of a talker or more of a listener?
It depends. When I'm new to a group I'm fairly quiet, I think that it has more to do with my shyness and social awkwardness then anything else. But once I warm up to people and get comfortable I can talk your ear off. That's one of the reasons Jeremy and I work so well together, I love to talk and he is a pretty good listener.

{three} would you rather get up early or sleep late?
I love to sleep. If I had a choice I'd sleep in every day. Well I kind of do have a choice since we have flex scheduling at work..so really I could go in later...but then I'd have to STAY later and I really don't want to do that. Get in and get out, that's my work motto...lol.

{four} if you could instantly become an expert at one type of dance, what type would you choose?
The Waltz. Nothing as fancy as the dance competitions (and I don't mean Dancing with the Stars). At my wedding reception I danced with my Grandpa and my step-Grandpa, both who knew how to move a woman around a dance floor. Now, I didn't know how to dance but when the man that is leading you does..you just follow. It's a talent that came from doing most of your socializing at the weekend town dance, and it has truly been lost on the younger generations.

{five} what's your favorite drink?
Alcoholic: Margarita with salt and vodka soaked olives. Nonalcoholic: Root beer.

{six} if your house caught fire and you could only grab three things, what would they be?
I hate to even think about stuff like this. It's really hard to say what I would grab. As others have mentioned, I'm going to assume my animals are out safely because they would be my number one priority. After that, I would grab...our box of important papers, the box full of photo backup CD's, and..um...I guess our computer PCU.

{seven} if you could only visit one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be?
The Sunset Grill.

{eight} who inspires you the most?
I know y'all are going to just gag, but Jeremy inspires me the most. He has such a good heart that its nearly impossible to be around him and not want to be a better person. He is the perfect counter to my bitchy side.

{nine} if you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?
Pamala Clare, Tara Janzen, and Ryan Reynolds. Doesn't that line up make perfect sense?

{ten} sneakers or sandals?
Sandals. There is nothing I love more than a cute pair of sandals.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what’s the worst date you’ve ever been on?
Considering that I was married at 19, I didn't have a lot of experience with going out on actual dates.

{two} if you could be any other person for one day, who would it be?
Lady Gaga. What do you think it sounds like in her head?

{three} what is your favorite kind of cheese?
I grew up eating slices of cheese my Mom would cut off a huge ol' block of Cheddar..I still love me some good Cheddar cheese.

{four} do you remember your 1st grade teacher?
Maybe. Mrs. Potter? She was blonde headed and kind of mean.

{five} who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?
I don't call anyone, I just wait for Jeremy to get home.

{six} were you ever in a school talent show?
Nope. I have stage fright..bad. Last summer we had a family get together and we put together a skit that went over several generations of our family, who was born and married during that generation and what was happening in the world. I was the 60's, and all I had to do was walk up on stage and read off a piece of paper. I was SO freakin' nervous that I was shaking and felt sick. And that was in front of my OWN family.

{seven} who is your favorite fictional character?
Leeloo Dallas

{eight} can you open your eyes underwater?
Probably, but it doesn't seem like a whole lot of fun.

{nine} do you look at the keyboard when you type?
I do on the laptop sometimes. I'm still getting use to the compact keyboard. But not on a normal keyboard. I can remember when we were learning about ten key in my vocational education class and the teacher told us we would eventually be able to do it without looking..I didn't believe her.

{ten} when was the last time you took a nap?
I can't even remember. I'm not much of a napper. I can't seem to get my brain to shut off during the day, even if I have nothing to do..bored out of my mind. I might lay down, but I cannot go to sleep.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what profession have you always admired?
I've always had great respect for most of our religious leaders. Priests, ministers, pastors, deacons. What ever you call them for your preferred religion. They give a lot of themselves to serve their communities in whatever capacity they can, working long, long hours without a whole lot of pay (sometimes no pay).

{two} what would the title of your memoir/biography be if it was written today? Hmm..I guess it would be called "She Only Looks Sweet and Innocent". Because people seem to be surprised to find out certain things about me. I would never classify myself as a wild child, but I've had my moments of doing uber-stupid, rebellious things. And also because if I wrote a book about my inner monologue people would discover what a bitch I really am.

{three} how far do you commute to work?
Two blocks. I can see my work building from my front door.

{four} are your earlobes attached or detached?
I don't even know what this means. How can you have detached earlobes? Are there people out there walking around with floating detached earlobes?

{five} do you eat the unpopped kernels of popcorn at the bottom of the bag?
Nope.

{six} what is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?
I got nothing. I can't thing of a single ODD gift!

{seven} what is one tv show that you wish hadn’t been cancelled?
Invasion. It was just starting to get good.

{eight} what is something that you are saving money for right now?
What aren't we saving money for? Dental work (such a rip off!), the guest bedroom (which is really just a room right now because we do not have a bed in there), new tattoos....

{nine} what hobby would you like to take up?
Flower arranging? I really do wish I knew how to take a few bundles of flowers and turn it into a masterpiece in a vase.

{ten} how many times a year do you get really dressed up?
Over the last several years its been about once or twice a year. It's like pulling teeth to get Jeremy into a button up shirt...nevermind a tie or slacks.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} when was the last time you used a pay phone (if ever)?
It was back in high school, maybe 10th grade sometime. So..15 years ago..about.

{two} did you ever fail a subject in school?
Yep, I failed Algebra I. I had to take summer school classes to bring my grade up to passing. I HATE MATH!

{three} where do you go to get your favorite hamburger/cheeseburger?
It's a local place that also has the best seasoned fries.

{four} have you ever served jury duty?
No, but I barely registered to vote last year. BUT..oddly enough my husband just received a jury summons in the mail today. Freaky.

{five} how old were you when you moved out of your parents’ house?
18. My Mom didn't think I was ready. Jeremy wasn't sure he was ready. I told him I was moving into an apartment with or without him {he did move in with me}.

{six} what is your favorite color to wear?
This is SO boring, but I love to wear grey.

{seven} do you have a pair of shoes that you wear all the time?
I have a cute pair of silver jeweled flat sandals. I know "jeweled" makes them sound sort of fancy, but they are casual but cute. They are like my flip flops, I wear them all the time.

{eight} do you enjoy talk radio?
Nope. Unless Kidd Kraddick in the morning counts..which I don't think it does.

{nine} if you could turn one unhealthy food into a healthy one, what food would it be?
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream

{ten} who is the best speaker you’ve ever heard in person?
Hhmm, my choices are very limited. I guess I would have to say the Sweet Potato Queen, Jill Conner Browne. Southern and sassy.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
No, but I have been crammed in the back of a very crowded elevator. Oh yes, I did freak out. My sister still laughs at me.

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?
Probably, at the circus. If not an elephant than a camel for sure.

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?
Like the crazy LA celebrities? No.

{four} do you have any food allergies?
No, thank goodness..I like food way too much for that.

{five} do you know how to sew?
I have a sewing machine. I do not know how to use it.

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?
I don't think so, not that I remember. I still had things I had to do, dishes and putting away laundry..stuff like that...but no money. I don't feel like I missed out because I didn't have my own 'money'.

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?
I don't know..that's the husbands territory.

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?
Nope..but I have a slight (i.e. huge) fear of water so I've never actually been far enough out in the ocean to even run the risk.

{nine} have you ever been robbed?
No, but that's another fear (I'm starting to think I have a problem). When we first moved into this house I was so paranoid that I couldn't sleep. I had to get up out of bed and check..and re-check the doors and windows. It was ridiculous. When we adopted Duke my fear let up.

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
Haircut? How about hairstyle? I can recall a junior high photo of me with frizzy permed hair...with bangs...which were also frizzy. Oy! Not a good look.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how often do you do laundry?
Sundays are assigned laundry days. You see, since our closet is so teeny-tiny my wardrobe is limited so at the end of the week most of my 'basic staples' are dirty.

{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?
Does this answer your question?

{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 per month?
Buy a second vehicle, join a gym, save for vacation.

{four} what was/is your favorite subject in school?
All the creative ones..art, photography, journalism, creative writing.

{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?
No. But I would love to. I had the chance to go up in a helicopter when I was a kid and I chickened out. I'd love to do that too.

{six} what was your high school mascot?
Bobcats!

{seven} if you had the chance to go into space, would you?
Nope. I'm good here on earth..you know, with the air and the gravity.

{eight} how often do you go dancing?
All the time..in the privacy of my own home. I can seriously get down when I start trolling youtube for music videos. Jeremy isn't much of a dancer so we've never been a couple to go out dancing.

{nine} would you rather drive or fly?
This is a tough one. I live in TEXAS..do y'all understand what that means for a road trip? It means a full day of driving just to get out of the state. Driving is more comfortable (and cheaper...for now..lol) but flying is faster. SO, I guess it depends on how much time I have.

{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?
Nope, never been caught.

Send some good thoughts out this way, people! I see rain on the horizon and we are literally on fire out here so we need the skies to open up...big time.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one}

have you ever fainted?

Yeah, I guess you could call it fainting. It would usually happen right after I stood up from either sitting or laying down. I would get light headed and then my vision would start to go black around the edges...next think I know I'm on the floor. It hasn't happened in a really long time.

{two}

what is your favorite casino game?

I've never been to a casino..and I'm not very good at cards. I'd probably be a natural at the slot machines.

{three}

do you have a good sense of direction?

I use to have real bad anxiety about getting lost. I would print out all sorts of directions and have mild panic attacks if I was detoured from the route I mapped out. I think I've been better about it over the last several years (having a GPS function on my cell phone helps). I'm much better about keeping my bearings and knowing the general direction I'm going and/or need to be going.

{four}

laptop or desktop?

I am in love with my new laptop!

{five}

what is your go-to hair style when having a bad hair day?

I bobby-pin my bangs back and then pull the rest up into a messy half bun/half ponytail.

{six}

do you read the newspaper on a daily basis?

Yes. So much going on with the cotton crop and sheep herding..have to stay in the know. Mostly I just want it for the crossword puzzle.

{seven}

do you have a favorite celebrity chef?

My friend, Julia, is on her way to being a much sought after cupcake baker..so I'm going to say her.

{eight}

what tv show would you like to make a guest appearance on?

I would love to be on Bones as an intern!! That would be so fun.

{nine}

do you have satellite radio in your car?

Nope. We go at it old school with CD's.

{ten}

what was the last movie that made you cry?

I can't remember, but it was recent. We were at home..watching...something! Dang it. And I was getting all teary-eyed. I remember telling Jeremy that I was about to start crying. What the heck was it...great, this is going to bother me all night.
