Back in May 2008 I had my first experience with Sushi. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. And I was shocked to find that I loved the Tuna Sashimi. Since then I've only had a handful of chances to have Sushi again..and I've learned that there is good Sushi and not so good Sushi. For example, grocery store Sushi...eh..es ok..but the Tuna Sashimi at the Kona Grill (which is NOT local, much to my dismay) is melt in your mouth wonderful.  It's harder to find the good Sushi..especially out here in west Texas.

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how many times have you been a bridesmaid/maid of honor?

Twice. I was a bridesmaid at the wedding of the couple that was part of our wedding party. They were married just a little over a year after us. And just last September I was the matron of honor at my best friends wedding.

{two} what’s the last thing you do before you fall asleep at night?

Pray. And guess what, He's listening.

{three} you just won your dream vacation, all expenses paid. where are you going?

Scotland and Ireland. For sure.

{four} what is your favorite outdoor activity?

Lolling. It is SO an outdoor activity..can't convince me otherwise.

{five} as a child, what did you want to “be when you grew up”? did you end up there?

I have no idea. I can't remember ever wanting to be anything specific. Maybe my Mom can help me out here.

Only three things?! Dang, that's hard. An open floor plan. A second bathroom. A walk-in closet.

Good question. Jeremy sent a text message earlier that he really didn't feel like cooking..so we might be running out for dinner tonight.

We'd be hanging in the back room. Jeremy would probably be playing a video game and I would be surfing the 'net or reading a book.

I don't know. Jeremy takes care of the bills so I don't even open them usually. Probably too much...like every other bill.

{ten} what do you do to relax?

Read a book. If I really want to let go, get out of my head, take a deep breath, take a mental vacation..I lose myself in a book.

You'll be a dentist..

When I was younger I went to a dentist that was very.....aggressive. It even says so right there in his advertisment...aggressive dentistry for kids. Yay! Not. I had every single one of my baby teeth pulled out because they just weren't falling out fast enough on their own. The whole being strapped down thing was great. Headgear for an over-bite? I had it. I was in partial-braces for years, colored bands and all, and then he tells my Mom he wants to put me in a full set...are you kidding me? I told him no way, so he took the partial braces off and fitted me for a retainer and told me that as long as I cared what my smile looked like I would have to wear that stupid retainer. Well, that lasted for about a year and then I lost track of that stupid retainer and have never had another dentist tell me I need a retainer.

To say I have been traumatized is an understatement. And it pisses me right off to think of that dentist taking advantage of my Mom like that who was just trying to do the right thing to ensure her girls had pretty smiles. After so many years I might be able to look back with some perspective and think it was just ME, but over the years every time I mention this guys name people roll their eyes, tell me stories they have heard. Every.single.time. So, it is NOT just me. He is a loser, who prys on people's emotions for the insurance money..I'm sure. I can't believe he is still in business, but he is. Boo! I tell everyone I can NOT to take their kids to him.

Anyway, a few posts back I mentioned that I have fell in love with Colgate Wisps(I forgot to pick some up on our last grocery trip..curses!). A confident smile is important. You don't want to walk around all day worrying about if you have something stuck in your teeth or coffee stains setting in or bad breath.

I just want to say thank you. I just had no idea what this would become when I started this blog nearly four years ago. I went from talking to myself to talking to y'all. What prompted you to start blogging?

I'm not sure what drove me to start blogging. I guess I was just doing what I've always done..write my life..just in a new format. Reading back over old high school notes I have decided that we were 'blogging' even back then...just on paper. Do kids even still write and pass notes?

Anyway, I started my journey in blogging on a website called opendiary.com. It's still up and running...the website, not my opendiary account. Back then it was just online journaling, the term 'blogging' hadn't been coined yet. When I moved from opendiary.com I actually saved my stories onto a floppy disk. Yes, a floppy disk. Because flash drives weren't common household items. I moved to live journal and then here. Who knows what the future holds..maybe some day I'll actually get my own domain.

Now that I think about it, I've probably been "online journaling" for at least 10 years. That's a long freakin' time. And I can't help but notice that I am just 11 followers away from hitting 100. HHHmmmm...and I've been buttering the Mister up so that I can do a really kick butt giveaway when I do hit 100 readers. Well, pretty kick butt for this blog considering that I've only ever done one other giveaway. So, y'all keep your eye on the Google Followers widget over on the left hand side.

Romancing the....Blog

Romance books are much like movies. Not that they are telling lies, but an exaggeration of reality. I know that real life is not like the romance novels I read, but they entertain me none the less.

I've talked about the author Tara Janzen before. I just picked up her latest book this weekend and I had it read in a day. I've started the Crazy series over again. I have never had a particular author that I preferred until Tara Janzen.

I have read a lot of romance novels over the years..as you can see by my book shelf. I've already cleaned that shelf out once this year. When I read, I devour. They might be exaggerated but the books do speak to me. They help remind me that I do still have some of those crazy, wild feelings for my husband and in my marriage.
