Week Wrap-up

Picture by myself of Squeak, our guru of sleep.

"The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night's sleep." ~ E. Joseph Cossman

Well, what a week...what a week. We had to move desks at work last Thursday and even though I know I'm not at work to 'make friends' it was hard to move away from the ladies I had been sitting with. It made it a lot easier to come to work every day knowing I was going to be sitting with some really great, funny women. It's been a hard adjustment. I sit right next to the boss now, not that I don't like here. She's great. But, it makes people that might want to stop and visit with me a little skittish. And my new cubie is still in training, so this week I was sitting by myself. It makes the days go by very, very slow.

I interviewed for a new job within the same company on Wednesday. I swear it was the most nerve wracking thing I have ever done(ok..maybe within this year). I haven't had to interview for anything in over 10 years and I am pretty sure that that interview was nothing like this interview. What do they call it...a 'structured' interview? With a 'panel' of people? There were four of them and they all had a packet filled with questions. One person asked the question and then as I spoke they all scribbled paragraphs on their pages. What were they writing?

'Subject is sweating profusely...seems very nervous..her face is very red...and she can't seem to sit still...perfect'

Ha ha. How can they NOT expect someone to be totally nervous? Anyway, I answered their questions to the best of my ability. I don't know if I told them what I wanted to hear or used the proper 'keywords' but...I tried. Jeremy says not to worry about it, what's the worst that could happen? They wouldn't offer me the job, and I would just keep the same job I have now. Not the end of the world. So, I'm trying not to pick it apart in my head, trying not to analyze every little word that came out of my mouth, trying not to think about it at all. I'll let you know what happens.

Poor Duke! Last weekend, out at the in-laws house, one of the other dogs went after Duke and bit him pretty good on the neck. I naturally over-react about everything. I have a vivid imagination that has a tendency of taking an event and blowing it up into tragic type results. I was very worried about him. We've been keeping an eye on him, making sure he is eating and drinking, making sure the bite area isn't too swollen or infected. It seems to be ok overall, but this morning we did find a swollen pocket of yucky stuff that seems to be draining on its own. It's about an inch down from the lowest bite mark and I think he must have scratched it and 'opened it'. So, we will be taking a cloth to it all during the day to keep it clean and help it drain. The draining is good, takes the pressure off and gets all that nasty stuff out of there. I think once it's done it will heal up quick and he will be good as new.

And lastly, but not leastly..ha ha. My sister got the part of Jan, one of the pink ladies, in our local theatre's production of Grease! I am super excited about it and CAN NOT WAIT to see her on stage doing her thing.
