Smile

I say that I'm fine
Put a smile on my face
I think we both know
that's not the case

My smile soon fades,
eyes red-rimmed with tears
I stare off into space
building up all my fears

Feeling less than enough
Wondering what's wrong with me
Angry that I can't give you all
Angry at what we can't be

I know it upsets you
to see me this way
There are no answers to give
We have to cope day by day

So I say that I'm fine
even though it can be so tough
You put a smile on your face
and we both hope it's enough
