Banana Pancakes
"A father may turn his back on his child, brothers and sisters may become inveterate enemies, husbands may desert their wives, wives their husbands. But a mother's love endures through all.” ~ Washington Irving
I can't remember the first time my Mom made us banana pancakes. It's almost like they have been a staple of our family meals forever. I l-o-v-e my Mom's banana pancakes. When I moved out I wanted to share my love with my husband, naturally. I made them a few times myself, and although they were good..they were not my Mother's banana pancakes. She thinks I'm crazy. She says she told me how she makes them and I have followed her directions perfectly. Again, good...but not AS good. I tell her she makes them with love and that's the difference.
So, now the tradition is I get banana pancakes, made by my Mom, every Christmas morning. We all enjoy them, but I know she does it just for me.
