We took my in-laws new dog for a walk after dinner on Saturday. What a motley bunch we make. The dogs name is Star and my Mother-in-law picked her up off the side of the road. She was so skinny you could see all her bones and the skin around her hip bones is calloused because she had no cushion when she sat down. And her ears are rough from being chewed on by fleas. Pretty sad story, but she seems to be adjusting to the good life. And the kitten? Well, he showed up on the back deck...scrawny and also flea-bitten. His name is Mittens and he purrs like a motorcycle. I'm going to call their house the 'Home for Wayward Creatures'.
