Randomness

"What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we cant decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish." ~ Chuck Palahniuk

~ I was listening to this audio book about a bone doctor that worked in Canada. She had a nephew visiting her who was from Texas and at one point in the book he says to her (full on southern accent and all), 'You're a can of corn, Aunt Tippy'. A can of corn?! I have never in my life heard anyone use a phrase like that.

~ At work we are no longer to use the words God, prayer, or bless in our emails. It's against 'company policy'. Everything about it feels wrong, but I don't know what I can do about it.

~ I L O V E this 'message from the universe':

One of the most comforting thoughts of all, Jinny, is knowing that all roads lead "home."

Even more comforting, is understanding that you never left.

  1. i love every, single, thing about this post.

chuck palahniuk, brilliant and so true.

-- i love audio books, that phrase is amazing. i'm currently listening to "how to see yourself as you really are" (or something like that) by his holiness the dalai lama.

-- wow, i can understand how everything about that feels wrong. that is intense.

-- that message from the universe is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

  2. let me start this comment by saying how much i love and treasure our friendship and my belief is the reason why it feels wrong to delete God, prayer, and blessings from our emails is because all roads do not lead "home". and please correct me if i am totally misinterpreting the 'message from the universe' or if i'm reading too much into your post but to me "home" will always mean Heaven and God.

  4. And I just had the time to read this post and say:

    WHAT???

Seriously, there are restrictions on what you can use in an email? Where do you work? That's wrong. If it were me, I would definitely continue doing what I normally do. If they don't like it, and if I'm not the only one not happy with their new policies, than they would have to rethink some things.

It's like the fear of sex, so swear words in English are sexually based. In French, the swear words are all religious based. Now when you think about how the world is changing and religion seems to be taking a back seat, companies are fearing the "R" word and change their policies.

I'm really tired and am not articulating myself well at all! Maybe I'll try again later... Can you change jobs?
